Q - Introduce yourself, where you’re from
A - I’m Nu Format, I create dance disks in Manchester for ravers worldwide. I grew up in the Midlands, moved to Manchester for uni, and stayed for the noise. It’s an amazing city for music, and there’s always something to do.
Q - Tell us about your track on Wired Vol. 2 (Influences, Sound, Goal)
A - My song on Wired Vol. 2 is called Night Voices. It’s a driving, vocal-led banger with atmospheric breakdowns and a bouncy bassline at 144 BPM. After hearing Diffrent’s ‘A Little Closer,’ I was inspired to create something catchy and faster than your typical garage track. Night Voices is designed to keep heads nodding and hands up – I encourage any DJ to drop it on a crowd and see what happens.
Q - Where do you see yourself in the future as an artist, and what are your goals for the next few years?
A - I want to build a fanbase that is drawn to my individual style. A lot of artists stick to one sound, but I plan to keep releasing across different genres to show that I can do it all. Whether it’s on my own or collaborating with creative producers and vocalists, I want to keep evolving. Also, I’d love to enter the live scene and bring my sets to the ravers.
Q - What would you say to other emerging artists who are considering being part of projects like Wired?
A - I would say go for it. If you have something worth sharing, don’t hold on to it. Wired is an opportunity to represent the scene alongside emerging talent, and if you have something original to cut through the compilation, you can get traction from the right people.
Q - What is your favourite track from another artist on Wired Vol. 2, and why?
A - I really like "ance. - Flashing Highs" – it caught my ear instantly. The mix is so clean, and the drums are super punchy. The track has a great groove and goes heavy on the subs.
